2-bromoacetic acid is reacted with 2-cyanophenol to generate 2-(2-bromophenoxy) acetic acid. Then, this compound is reacted with hydrazine to produce 2-(2-Cyanophenoxy)acetohydrazide under the catalysis of a base.
